Unable to add a protocol : XP pro error

Hello,

Since a few days XP pro refuse to add any protocol, client or service.
"local network->properties->add (install)"

I have a french version. I will try to translate the error message.

"Unable to add the requested component. Error is : the access path
specified does not containt any .INF files that can apply for that device"

What's really strange is that XP doesn't ask me for the path. It just
send that error message.

1) I've check the register key : device_path : OK
2) Uninstall-reinstall the network card (ok)
3) Repair (local network->repair) (ok)

Nothing works. Any help will be well come.
