Unable to access web pages containing images

Recently I found that the web pages I saved on my desktop did not contain
images-just white spaces with red "x's" in them.The desktop is a Dell running
Windows XP.I noticed that when I clicked on" File" then "Save As",the window
that came up contained the heading "Save HTML Document" rather than the
former heading "Save Web Page"as when the process was working! Would
appreciate some help.Thanks.
