Unable to access secure sites

I recently had problems with unwanted popups. I followed
the protocol posted for getting rid of adware and spyware
and the popups have gone away.

However, I am still unable to access secure sites such as
my hotmail account and various credit card accounts from
this computer. (Other computers on my network do not have
this problem.) Can anyone help?!
