unable to access my mail @ yahoo

a number of Yahoo users seem to be geting log in errors in November.
the message is 'gExtContent' is undefined
number 2146823279

Is linked to a MS Security update because i have not changed anything and
the account can be accessed from other PCs.

Some users have switched to Firefox to get around the problem

anyone know how to fix the problem ( i have IE7 and XP Home)

If you didn't change anything then the problem didn't stem from any MS
updates - because YOU would've configured Automatic Updates to notify
only and not install anything without your permission.

Since Yahoo Mail displays ads on their web pages, how do you know
gExtContent isn't something to do with getting the content to display
for advertisements? Sometimes ads do screw up a page because they
contain content, like scripts, that the site doesn't allow but they also
don't bother to restrict that bad content. Yet tried using an
ad-blocker to get rid of their ads to see if their webmail starts
working?

After you use FF to permanently switch to the Classic UI at Yahoo Mail,
does IE then work?
