I'm tryihng to access jpegs from an outside network. I am
able to do so if I am logged in locally at my PC. However
if I log into our domain, I can no longer see the jpegs.
Are there settings I need to enable in Active Directory to
allow me to see these files while I am logged on to our
domain? We're running Windows 2000 Servers.

It would have been useful to have included the error message your seeing.
However, using my sixth sense, I'm guessing that you have administrative
privs when logging in locally, but not when logging in to the domain and
that the error message you're seeing is "No file format information can be
found in the registry".

OFF2000: "No File Format Information Can Be Found in the Registry" Error
Message When You Start Photo Editor
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;260151

It includes information on how to change registry permissions using Group
Policy.

Hope this helps

Oli,

I changed the registry setting but it didn't solve the
problem. I'm accessing information from another network.
Part of the information is a jpeg. I http to the site. If
I am logged in to the local machine, the picture is
visible along with the text information. If I log into our
domain, I can get to the site but where the picture should
be is a box with an x, no picture. I've been told the
other organization is "serving" up the pictures by using a
fileshare. If I look at the information on the file, its
starts with "file://<path to file>". If I click in the
area where the jpeg image should be I get an error, " The
page cannot be displayed". It mentions checking some
browser options, which I have done.

It sounds like the author of the web page didn't write the page properly.
If it's outside your network, file:// is never going to get the image. You
need to inform the web page author of his error.
