I have just `inherited` a computer with a larger hardrive that I want to
use. I want to take out all unnecessary stuff, just leaving windows xp and
office. I know how to, using uninstall from the control panel but I am
unsure which ones I can safely take out.

I will be using the internet when I get this done. There will not be a
printer or digi camera. I will reinstall my own antivirus/firewall

Can someone advise me what I can safely take out from the list
below...thanks

If I acquired a used computer, the first thing I would do with it
would be to reinstall the operating system cleanly. You have no
idea how the computer has been maintained, what has been
installed incorrectly, what is missing, what viruses and spyware
there may be, etc. I wouldn't want to live with somebody else's
mistakes and problems, possibility of kiddie porn, etc., and I
wouldn't recommend that anyone else do either.

Used PC. I'd suggest just starting with the harddrive you want to use,
format it and fresh install the operating system and only those programs
you need or want.

It's ALWAYS best to install the OS 100% fresh when getting a used pc you
want to use.

I agree in principal but I don`t have a CD the original is long gone so I
am trying to leave that on (xp) as I can`t reinstall.

No CD? Suggest you get one BEFORE you absolutely need it!
