UK SMS Text Software

Can anyone suggest any freeware for sending SMS text messages via a PC. I
realise payment for the SMS text would be involved either by billing to my
mobile or using a Dial-Up connection.
Any advise much appreciated.

Can't help you with freeware but you can send to users of major carriers
via your email proggy.

I assume you were talking about connecting your mobile to your PC via a
serial port or Infrared port.

http://www.jsmsengine.org is an opensource Java based engine that can
do the job for you plus a lot of other features.

MS has also released an SMS sender program:

NotePage has a free application, I use their SMS server software (costs money)
and like it. I imagine the lower end free version will do what you want.
