Hi there.
There doesn't appear to be a UK English language version in my Options
choices! Is this because of the Vista package that we have? I remember XP had
this option. Thanks in anticipation. xxx

Windows Mail spellchecking has very limited language choices.
It's probably a reflection on how late the WinMail team got
started while Vista was in beta testing.

I also have a foreign version, French, and wanted to download an
English version but cannot find a way to do this. If I had an English
version I would be able to download any of dozens of other language
versions.

Will this siytuation chnage?

We don't know. Microsoft isn't talking.

Windows Mail does not have UK English as a spelling check
language choice. It comes with only 4 languages available, and
the default is partly set to US English, but not enough to work.
If you want US English, click on Tools, then Options, then
Spelling, then the triangle to the right of English, then some other
language, then Apply, then the triangle again, then English, then
Apply again, then OK.

If you want UK English, you may prefer to download and
install Windows Live Mail, which allows UK English, although
as a hidden choice.

For details of how to set it to use UK English, ask on
