There does not appear to be an option for using UK/British English. Is there
one? If not is it possible to use my Word 2007 dictionary?

This question has been asked here before and know one has come up with an
answer.

Personally I'm sick and tired of having everything corrected to "American
English"

The only solution currently available is to use Outlook instead of Windows Mail.

Marvellous!

I agree. Another example of Yankie cultural imperialism, and lazyness.

When my ancestors came face to face with British cultural imperialism they
knew how to handle it. "In the animal kingdom, the rule is, eat or be
eaten; in the human kingdom, define or be defined." Thomas Szasz (b. 1920),
U.S. psychiatrist. "Language," The Second Sin (1973).

Windows Live Mail is the replacement for Windows Mail, or so it would seem.
The program is capable of spell checking according to UK spelling, but it
takes some fiddling to make it work. The NG for Windows Live Mail is
microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop. WLM is currently in development
and not nearly as stable as WM. A number of commercial spell checkers are
available. Perhaps there is one which works with WM. Outlook is pretty
darn cheap on this side of the Atlantic.

The same question is addressed in the MSN NG,
microsoft.public.msn.discussion. The parameters are a little different, but
you can gain a pretty good understanding of the problem there. I agree that
MSFT's approach to UK spelling has been a little, let's say jingoistic, but
it was a question of us or them. All your base are ours.
