I need to replace an old UDMA66 drive. The ASUS K7M Motherboard supports up
to UDMA 66. Will a UDMA100 work in its place at reduced speed?

sure thing...
just note that if you get a very large drive...such as over 137gigs...
the bios will probably not support it and you'd need a pci controller
