U3 Freeware?

Are there any freeware programs for the new U3 standard for USB flash
drives?\

Hi Bob, I don't have any answers for you, just questions.
I had a quick scratch around, looking at U3, I don't really see it doing
much different to what we can do now with a normal flash drive.
Web browsing, email, newsgroups, photo editing, playing music, can all be
done now.
Comments, what am I missing?

You're missing nothing major as far as I can see.
I seriously believe this U3 USB premise will blow over.
Our group a.c.f. in particular seems very interested in
a thread of 'non-install', so-called standalone single
file executable programs. They are available in growing
numbers.

In fact, I have found numerous program packages, that
once installed, actually need only ONE salient executable
to do its stuff. Those I have isolated, and then
uninstalled the program .. retrieving only the needed
executable, and I am happy; a few do indeed thereafter
generate minor adjunct files, such as .ini to address
parameters you might need. So what.

Just for interest, I list here a collection of such
standalones kept on my thumbdrive. My list have both
free and commercial, and many are "crunched" smaller.
