How do you get the # sign to move up to say top of the line instead of a
typical on line with every other letter. I probably could have explained this
better, but this is what I would like to print. Examples 10#, C#. I would
like the # up.

That's called "superscript". Select the # sign and press the Ctrl, Shift,
and = keys all at the same time. This is a shortcut for going to the Format
Font dialog and checking the box labeled "Superscript".
