I had an XPPro crash, so I re-installed into a different Windows folder.. not writing over the original install. Now, when I boot by pc, there are two copies of XPpro listed, only one of which is the working copy. Aside from all the other aspects of this situation, all I really want is to remove the non-working copy of XP pro from the boot-up list. How can I do this?

But instead of two of the same OS to choose I have XP Pro and Windows (default). XP Pro runs fine (which is the one I want) but Windows (default) now gives me the error "Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: <Windows root>\system32\hal.dl

I just want the second OS off my system. Any more ideas?
