Hello:

I will bepurchasing a new version of Access, either 2002 or 2003.

I would like to install it on two home PC machines, without having to buy
two complete
packages.

Have never played with MS, and multi user licenses.

(don't want MS Office; just the stand-alone MS Access)

My questions are:

a. I've searched everywhere I could think of in Google and Yahoo, and could
find nothing
about multi user licenses for Access 2002 or 2003 being offered.

Any suggestions for a lic. source would be most appreciated.
How expensive are they for two users ? Avail for 2002 and 2003 ?

b. How does the installation process work ?

Is it that you normally load it on one PC, go thru the activation
agony, and then take the main disk
over to the other machine; run the license disk first on it, then the
main disk ?

Would sure appreciate any details on how one does this.

Thanks,
Bob

As far as I know you are allowed to load MS Access and/or
MS Office on 1 machine and portable device, used only by
the primary license holder, AND taht's it. No multi-user
the way you describe it. Now if you want to write a
database and distribute it you can get Visual Tools for
2003 or ODE for 2002 and load Access runtime versions but
that is only so that 'clients' can use the database you
wrote.

I don't know (have never bothered to check into) loading
it on to a server but it didn't sound like you had a
server.

Hope that helps!

Multi-user licenses usually start at around 5, and at
that level the discount is not large. For two licences,
Access comes at full cost.

FWIW, Very Large organisations buy a version of Office
that does not require activation.
