Two Personal folders

I have somehow got two personel folders in outlook but cannot deete the
second one. Can anyone help :-)

Only if you provide your Outlook version and the steps you used to do this.
Can you R click and close the second set?

I have the same issue - in OL2000 under WinXP Home. You can't close one of
them, yeah?

I have two user profiles on the machine: one for me and one for my partner -
both of us access the same .PST file - he doesn't have two personal folders
showing, whereas I do.

It's a "nothing", but it's VERY irritating.

Can anybody help? Are we talking a need for a reinstall of Office 2000? I do
hope not!

The answer to your question requires that you provide a more accurate
account of your Outlook version.
Internet Mail Only or Corporate/Workgroup.
 
I am running Outlook 2003 SP1 on Internet Mail Only. The second Personel
Folders has the same information as the first and cannot be deleted. As
Martin says its a nothing I guess but anoying. i.e same folders

Outlook 2003 does not have separate mail support modes, so there is no such
thing as IMO.
In your case, you have a corrupt profile, most likely from having migrated
your Outlook data incorrectly.
Create a new profile. Make sure you migrate your data correctly to the new
profile:
