You have to have seperate copies of XP to load onto each
computer, however, office XP can be loaded on a laptop
only.

where did you get that ridiculous idea from?
 
He's kind of right, but he phrased it incorrectly.
With Office XP, you can install it on one desktop, and one laptop using the
same license. If you want to load it on two desktops, you'll need a second
license. That's my interpretation, anyway.

read it again Norm! he wanted to load XP the OS on two
PC's right? then he wanted to load Office XP onto two
machines, well, you can only load Office with the one
copy onto a laptop without having to buy another copy. If
he wanted to load office onto another desktop using the
same CD it wouldn't work.
