two operating systems

i installed xp on top of previous win nt4 o/s. As my disk space is getting
short, i was wondering whether it is safe to totally uninstall nt 4 o/s?

Yes, I did that recently, but with NT4 and Win2k3 Server.

1. Make sure you have nothing worth saving in your WinNT folder. I
found some old compatible screen savers myself.

2. Press Windows Key plus Pause Break to call up systems properties,
followed by the Advanced Tab and the Settings button for the Startup
and Recovery option. Now remove Win NT from the dual boot option in
the boot.ini file and set the boot delay to 0.

3. Now just delete the Win NT 4 folder. And from what I found it all
seems to pass away easily enough.

RIP NT4. :-)
