To make a very long story short, Gateway had me uninstall
and resinstall XP. However, the steps they gave me
installed XP and did not delete the old XP, so I have two
op. systems running on the same computer. Whenever the
computer boots I get a screen asking me which op. system I
want to use. How do I delete on instance of XP?

Thanks in advance for any help!

.

search for file name boot.ini
There are two line under <operating systems> for partition
1 & 2. 1 is the lastest installed wind ver. Delete one
of these. (make a backup of this file before you mess with
it. By the way, there is no way to run to windows system
at the same time. It just simply ask you which OS to run.
