Two Firewalls better than one

I have XP with a DSL connection, but also, I have a DI-
701 router by D-Link that has a build in fire wall. My
question: are there any ports I can open up to have the
XP firewall and 701's firewall enabled at the same time
while connected to the Internet. Or do I have to follow
the default way and just use the router to connect to my
PPoE DSL account.

Any Help will be welcome. Thanks

You can enable/disable XP's firewall independently on each network
connection.

If you connect to the Internet directly from XP through a PPPoE
connection, enable XP's firewall on the PPPoE connection.

You can enable XP's firewall on the LAN connection that connects to
your router, but it won't do anything useful in that case. The
router's firewall already does everything that XP's firewall does.

In either case, there's no need to open any ports to allow both
firewalls to run.
