Two duplicate personnal folders

I just imported my .pst file from Outlook Xp to 2003 on my new computer.
Everything was fine until I closed and opened it for the second time. Now
there are two duplicate personnal folders with all of the same contacts,
email messages, etc. When I check there is still only one .pst file. I've
tried to bring other .pst files in to see if that would help, but nothing
changes. Even with the new files it still makes a duplicate copy of
everything. I can still work and everything is fine, but it is just driving
me crazy. If anyone else has seen this and knows how to fix it, please let
me know how. Thanks.

OK, so I messed with it a little bit and now there is a different problem.
Instead of having two duplicate accounts I just have one that works fine and
another that I cannot delete, or even open. This sucks and it is driving me
crazy. I've now spent way too much time trying to fix this problem. I've
even gone the route of trying to unistall then reinstall. No go because
Microsoft acutally doesn't remove all of the files on the uninstall.

Has anyone ever seen it? I should say. There are several hundred posts to
this effect.
When you read them you will find that importing a PST is never the correct
way to migrate data. You will corrupt your profile. And you did.
Create a new one.
Then read the Help Files on how to migrate Outlook data:

What don't you try what I posted?
It works.
You will notice that nowhere did I say to uninstall and reinstall. That
won't do a thing.

Russ, I appriciate your help. I ended up rolling back my computer, starting
over from scratch, and once I had the new folder and old folder into outlook,
I copied the old files to the new folders. I only did this because I was
running into a couple of other problems and didn't want to even deal with
them.

I appriciate all your help.

So it's working now?
Creating a new profile and migrating your data file correctly will fix this
every time.
