Two copies of XP on my PC

Please help! I have been experiencing lots of blue screens and couldn't get
to the bottom of them so decided to put a "clean" copy of Windows XP on my
PC. I thought I had opted to overwrite the old copy of Windows XP Home
Edition, but now when I boot up the computer I get a black screen and a
message asking which Windows XP I want to use. Because I've got it on the PC
twice it's taking up most of my hard disc?
