Two Contact folders

In Outlook 2002 I have two Contact folders. This seems to be because I failed
to copy my .pst file from my old computer until after I installed Outlook.
The primary Contact file has no entries so I have to specifically choose the
2nd file before I e-mail. How do I delete the empty one and make the 2nd the
primary? BTW if I click Contacts on the menu my good set shows. I have closed
a second Personal Folders set which resulted from the above problem.

Tools>E-mail Accounts>View or change existing e-mail accounts>Next. At the
bottom left, choose the PST that is to be your default delivery location -
i.e., the PST containing your populated Contacts folder.

At the bottom left I do not have specific files listed that I can choose
from: only Personal Folders or Archive.

OK, how many data files do you see when you click "File>Data File
Management" and what are they?

Two files, Archive and Personal Folders: Archive.pst and Outlook1.pst
(because I had some confusion with the original Outlook.pst file). Both are
where I expected: C:\Documents and Settings\Ron\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook. So why does it think there are two Contacts folders?

Well, each PST will have its own Contacts folder. If you've run Archive on
the main (Outlook1) PST, then the archive PST will have all the same
folders, since the archive function creates a duplicate folder structure in
the Archive PST as is in the delivery PST. It's supposed to work that way.
Is that what you see, or am I missing something?

1. Wouldn't I always have an archive.pst once I archive?
2. Why don't I have two folders of everything else?
3. Why isn't Oultoo1.pst my primary Contact folder instead of my secondary
one?
4. I'll remove mArchive.pst to somewhere else to see what happens.

Yes, but it doesn't have to be displayed in the Folders List.
2. Why don't I have two folders of everything else?

In exactly which PSTs are those Contacts folders located?
3. Why isn't Oultoo1.pst my primary Contact folder instead of my
secondary one?

Whatever PST is your delivery location will hold the active Contacts folder.
