Hey all,

I'm having some problems with my TV Tuner crashing my
computer and ATI suggested that it might be because of a
flaw in XP that causes TV tuners to hang when running on a
system that has hyper-threading technology
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;817589). According to the knowledge base article there
is some sort of fix, but in order to get it I have to call
Microsoft and get charged big bucks for it. Right, like I
should have to pay to fix something they screwed up. Does
anyone here know of a solution for me?

I get the same problem with the TV Wonder VE from ATI. I
guess we'll have to wait for service pack 2. Does anyone
have the file "stream.sys 01-April-2003 version
5.3.2600.1193"?

Let me know if you hear anything.

In addition to the previous post, I tested a theory, and
disabled the hyperthreading for the processor in my
motherboard bios. The software no longer locks up when
doing this.

I can recommend this as a temporary fix until service pack
2 comes out. Good Luck.
