TV Display through Inspiron 510 Windows XP

How do I get my laptop to display on my TV? I have connected the cable and
changed the display settings.

On a Mac you just select detect display and it automatically finds the TV.
What's the equivalent in Windows XP?

Depends on the hardware. Contact Dell, or use their forums.
