Turning System Restore off

I have the W32.Swen.A@mm virus and am trying to disable
Sys Restore in XP Home. Somehow the virus will not let
me get into Sys Restore I get a rundll32.exe error that I
might not have permission to access the file. Is there
any other way to turn off Sysy Restore so I can proceed
with virus removal?
 
To turn-off System Restore:

Right-click on MY COMPUTER and select:
Properties > System Restore , make your settings
selections and click "apply". Reboot your computer.
Now go back and re-enable System Restore.
