Hi there,

I'd like to change the desktop theme on my XP laptop; but
when I choose a new theme (i.e. Luna as opposed to Windows
Classic) I get an error that tells me:

"The theme could not be loaded becaue the theme service is
not running. You can turn the service on in the Computer
Management Administrative Tool in the Control Panel"

When I go to the Control Panel I don't see anything
labeled "Computer management administrative tool."

Thank you in advance for any help!

Inside the Control Panel there is another folder called Adminstrative Tools
or similar. Inside this is the services applet where you can re-enable the
theme service. Odd though, this service is always enabled by default so it
should already be running unless you stopped it yourself...

Thanks so much!

You know, I got this machine from my company and I
wouldn't be surprised if they didn't modify that setting
and then imaged it onto my machine.

I don't think I did it ... unless I figured out a new way
to get into the Administrative Tools panel (which I
couldn't even find w/o help) :-)

Again, thanks tons!
I now have a new desktop theme!

Ah, if it came from a corporate source then it's not surprising the theme
service is off :) Glad to see you're happy now though :)
