I've turned off 'play animations' in Tools/Options/Advanced/ but some small
animated gifs still play. Any ideas please?

Hi mikey,

Maybe it aren't animated gifs but Java applets or Flash movies.

Kind regards

Yeah you're right - they're Flash movies. They really piss me off when I'm
trying to read long texts. Also those intrusive ones that appear in the
middle of the screen - yuk!! - how do we turn Flash off?

| Hello,
|
| You could uninstall Flash player. Macromedia has a tool to do so
| (http://www.macromedia.com/support/flash/ts/documents/remove_player.htm)
|
| There is a tool called No!Flash
(http://www.geocities.jp/baryonlee/noflash/)
|
| There also seems to be a registyry tweak, but I didn't test it.

Get Avant. It has a flash blocker. www.avantbrowser.com. It's simply an IE
shell that adds a lot of goodies like tabbed browsing, ad, pop-up and flash
blockers and much more.
