127.0.0.1 is not a valid LAN IP address. It is what is referred to as
"localhost", which you could use if you were running a web server, for local
testing of web content. You only need the firewall turned on for the
connection that actually connects to the internet. You do not need it
turned on for your LAN side connection.

Hi Bobby,

Can you explain your setup? I'm assuming that you have multiple network
interfaces on your ICS host machine... ie Dialup/DSL/Cable and another
internal NIC for local machines. Is this correct, and if so, what
functionality are you looking for? ICF is a per interface setting, so it
will not affect the clients sharing the Internet connection via ICS
relating to File and Print sharing on the internal interface.

Bobby,

Make sure that you have entered in the default gateway
address of your router in your network settings under
Local Area Connection Properties TCP/IP. If you are or are
not using a router just go to the properties of your NIC
and install the protocol File and Print sharing. Make sure
to open the properties and check both items. Also if you
do not have My Network Places on your desktop you might
not have a clue on where to do all of this. Go to Task Bar
and Start Menu Properties, then click the start tab, Then
customize, advanced, finally scroll down the list in and
put a check in My Network Places.

Hi Bobby,

Is the question answered to your satisfaction?
