I have read everything I can find in the knowledge base on
this. I must be looking in the wrong place. Somehow a
friend of mine turned this option on and cannot turn it
off. There is no clickbox, no control panel option,
nothing.

Any suggestions from the community?

I believe you would do it as follows, go to Start\All
Programs\Accessories\Accessibility\Narrator, then remove the checks from
Announce System Events and the Read text option; click ok and exit.

Do this to disable Narrator: Go to Control Panel -> Ease of Access -> Ease of Access Center -> Explore all Settings -> Use the computer without a display. Uncheck the checkbox by Turn on Narrator and click Save.

Turning off Narrator

:thumb: Thank you so very much!!! I turned narrator on thinking it'd be helpful when I first got my computer about 6 months ago. Boy WAS I WRONG!!! It has been driving me crazy ever since! :wall: I looked everywhere on my computor to get rid of it and could not find it. My boyfriend couldn't either until he came across your thread. He fixed it and I just want to thank you!!!!!
