hi all,
a simple question (as if there is such a thing)... how can i turn off the
auto reboot if i cant get my computer to actually boot up.
i get as far as the screen that has the options for safe mode and normal
start, but the computer just reboots itself from there.

suggestions?

thanks in advance to all

Is the CD Drive beening seen in the computer BIOS?

IS it a master or slave? primary or secondary?

Does the light flash on front of drive?

If you're still working on that "so-cute" girl/woman's computer, WHY?
If you're not sure what's wrong, it's best to take to a professional and
save face now!!

You could cause more problems than she now has in the long run!!

Hi,

If SP2 is installed, then disabling autorestart is one of the boot menu
options.

Disable auto restart on system failure

Well. It looks like you are finally making some progress!!!

Good Luck on the dinner date ( less important matter, the computer problem).

Happy New Year to you and you're prospect friend.

still haven't identified the problem with the unbootable cd drive, though.

It may haunt you yet!!

Does that mean you got her PC fixed, the dinner date was a home run, or
