Hi,

I use the Dutch version of Windows XP Pro, which basically uses the
character set from the US international settings.
Regularly I get photo cds from Turkey and every so often I can't open, copy
or rename files on those, which seems to be due to the filename using some
of the extended Latin characters they only use in Turkey.
Anyone have a solution to this or seen this problem?

Thanks,
Robert

Yes and yes. The only solution I know of is to install Turkish language
support. Be sure your WinXP CD is available to the system and:

Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Languages > Tex Services and
Input Languages (Details) > Add {Turkish}

A reboot will probably be needed.

For the cause of the problem see "Six problem Turkish characters in search
of a solution" http://www.kanyak.com/6turkchars.html
