Hello
I recently upgraded my computer to WinXP. I have a Panasonic (Matshita) LF-D311 DVD-RAM drive. It hasn't worked under XP. I recently got a message from Panasonic with a website for a new driver. I downloaded it and tried to install it. It wantes the old driver removed before it will install. I uninstall it and re-boot. It comes back every time. The New Hardware Found wizard runs and re-install the incorrect diver. I am in a catch-22. How can I prevent the old driver from being re-installed upon boot

Thanks everyon

Doyle

Hi Doyle,

Uninstall the drive, turn the machine off; then physically disconnect
the drive from the machine.
Turn on your computer and install the new driver. If it installs in a
specific folder take note of it.
Turn machine off and reconnect the drive. Now boot the machine, when
it says it has detected new hardware, direct it to the folder you
wrote down.

Good luck
