I am unable to locate the Outlook 2007 pst folder so I can copy it to a DVD
to transfer to new computer. Even though I know Outlook is there because I
use it all the time, I am unable to find it in My Explorer, My Computer, and
Search. I use Win XP pack3. The path I have been using is c:Documents and
Settings\(my name)\local settings\application data\Microsoft\Outlook. I get
as far as Microsoft, but Outlook is not there.

Firstly you need to enable hidden files and secondly the path is
C:\Users\{Your Account Name}\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook

Sorry, that path is the VISTA path......you were correct, you just need to
enable hidden files in Win Explorer....

To enable the hidden files:

Go to Start button, hit right mouse button and then Explore all users
From the start menu now go to tools, folder options, view tab, and then
click Show Hidden Files and then when you go to the path you tried before you
will see Outlook in the Microsoft Folder.

Actually, you don't. You merely need to enter "%AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook"
in the Address bar of Windows Explorer and click Go.

In addition to giving the Vista location to an XP user, you gave the
WRONG Vista location: it's not the "roaming" directory, it's the
"local" directory.

D'Oh! I fell into the same trap by being too cursory in the reading of the
entire thread.
