Trying to set up send and recieve at home for work server

Hello all,

I am trying to set up my friend email to send and recv' his email from wrok
at home... They use an IMAP config...

We can get it to recv email but it will not send out to external email
addresses.. but "internal" email addresess will recv there email ( people
he works with) some one said try configuring send part of the email to POP3
but i do not see a way to do this.... We are using office XP
 
Depending on how the smtp server is configured at work, it might require the
user to meet some criteria before they can send mail to other sites. For
example, the server might require the user to send a userid/password to the
SMTP server before they can send to an external location. Have you tried
configuring the account to logon to the SMTP server?
 
you mean in the outgoing server tab... checking my outgoing server....yes did
that....
 
Does the server accept a sent message or does it fail the connection without
transfering the message?
