Anyone,

I am tring to network 3 PC's on XP.

I used to be able to do this easily on Windows 2000 but
its like trying to fight blancmange with XP.

I have one wireless hub which is the single gateway to
the internet as well as being the link between my three
home PC's on the home network using the a single
WORKGROUP to define.

The IP adressing is on auto as it was on W2K but all I
can do is link one PC at a time to the internet and at NO
time can one PC see another.

What am I doing wrong?

If anyone is kind enuff to write back I can supply IP
configurations.

Any help would be much appreciated. Steve.

Have you ran the Network Setup Wizard on all three computers? It's way easier than trying to do it manually. I'm guessing that all three pcs are in the same workgroup already. You will also have to enable sharing on whatever folders you want to be able to access from the other computers.

If that device is *really* a hub, and not a router, then it is
likely your problem. I doubt if it is a hub, since it is wireless,
but in case, see: http://home.comcast.net/~bobwbsgs/homenet.txt

If your device is a router, then check that it has DHCP server
enabled, and that all PCs are set up as DHCP clients. Then, just
to verify, on each PC, Run CMD and enter IPCONFIG/ALL in the CMD
window; check that all PCs are in the same IP subnet -- you should
see IPA=a.b.c.d, with a.b.c the same for all and the d's unique.

With all PCs in the same IP subnet, and using the same workgroup
name, and with ICF disabled on all, and TCP/IP enabled, and NetBEUI
and IPX/SPX disabled, and NetBIOS over TCP/IP enabled, and F&P sharing
and Client for M$nets enabled, you should be able to PING every PC
from every other PC, both PING-by-number and PING-by-name.
