I am trying to install windows XP Professional (without
service pack 1!) on a large (160GB drive). The bios sees
the whole drive size yet the XP installation only sees
131069 MB. Any ideas? Is there a workaround that lets me
create installation disks (floppies) that will work?

Thanks very much, -jeff

Hi,

without Windows XP SP1"

yes, it explains the problem. I have a CD containing
windows XP (without sp1). I downloaded the boot floppies
for sp1, and booting/formating proceeds correctly. Now
will windows XP without sp1 install correctly? I'm trying
now & will post the results.
