Trying to find where MRUs are stored for "Open" file in ImgBurn

I noticed a few weird things in Vista, where I delete a file and it still can
be referenced via applications.

The latest incident is with ImgBurn, where I "Browse for File" and it opens
the "Open" window. There is nothing displayed, but when I hit the arrow
button on the file name, I get a drop down list of ISO files that were burned
weeks ago. It appears that ImgBurn doesn't maintain anything in ProgramFiles
or ProgramData, nor is there a reference to thes files in
C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\ImgBurn\ (jus the log file here, with no
reference to the files listed.

In Regedit, I can't find ANY reference to these file names.

Any Idea where it is picking up this MRU list? (I used all the options in
ImgBurn to clear MRUs)

It's just a dynamic list that items fall off as others are added. It's not
located anywhere and the items can be invalid or already deleted. Some
programs allow a menu choice to "remove obsolete items."

I would think it has to be stored *somewhere* if it keeps coming back, like
some log, an .ini, the registry. It just seems odd. Don't know if this is
ImgBurn specific or Vista specific. I mean, if I see it in the drop down, it
must be logged somewhere. I suspect it is Vista related once you get down to
a window to Open a file.

I've seen other things similar in Vista, like being able to address and open
a file that is no longer there. For example, I was having problems with DU
Meter not being able to save history, so I moved the log.csv out of the
directory, but then was able to open it with Openoffice (sorry, Microsoft
Guys!!) in the old directory! And it was a different version than the other
one. Then I totally deleted the log.csv, and was still able to open it.

I stumbled across a solution. It appeared that this was more than just
ImgBurn - other applications did the same thing, displaying deleted files in
the drop down (as well as files not within the directory).

It was just the list of Recently Used Files, even though I "disabled" the
"Store and Display" recently used programs and files when I set up my new
machine.

To solve, I enabled "Store and Display" and then disabled "Store and
Display", and this problem disappeared.

Is this a "bug" or a "feature"? I figure, if I say don't store and
display, it shouldn't store and display.

I think I'm having a similar problem. However, when I turned off the store
and display it didn't resolve the problem... Maybe you are reffering to a
different "Store and Display"???

Here is my problem:

I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium and saved some media files into a
folder named "temp" within in the Video folder. Since they were just
temporary video files, I deleted them and the entire folder.

However, now everytime I use Window Movie Maker (or any other program) and I
attempt to "add a file" to the project, the "file name" drop down (where you
specify the file you want to add) has a list of recent files, but it includes
all the files I've deleted as well as the current ones.

How can I clear this list? I don't like it being cluttered with files that
no longer exist? The invalid list entries appear on all "file name" drop
downs where you are attempting to add a file to anything (for any program,
microsoft or not).
