I am trying to back up my computer. I am prompted to
back it up on a floppy disk, however, I would rather use
CD-RW disks instead. How can I do this?

At least with Win2000, backup directly to CD-R or CD-RW
is not allowed. Maybe WinXP is the same. If you want to
use the built-in Backup, back up to a file (or multiple
files, each less than the capacity of your CD-RW), then
burn the files onto your CD-RW. If that seems like too
much trouble, you can buy a program (some are available
for free trial) that will back up to multiple CD-RWs.

I have found a great program to syncronize my files as a
back-up. It's called InSync by Dillobits ($20). I use a
second, internal (it will work with an external hard drive
as well) hard drive as my backup, backing up to it
automatically every night (245 AM) by syncronizing only
the files that have been created or modified since the
previous day. I also have it delete files that were
deleted on my C-drive, but it can be set to retain all
deleted files if you choose. I don't know if it will work
with CD-RWs (check the website), but they only hold 650-
700 MB; I syncronize over 13 GB of files every night.

Great program. Works quickly (usually less than 3
minutes) and flawlessly, even with XP (although I have to
use it under an "administrator"'s logon that has a
password since I don't use password with my personal
logon - one of the quirks of WinXP Task Scheduler).

Ive found an easy way is to open a formatted cd, also open
the file you wish to back up on your screen at the same
time and drag to the cd as you were just moving files or
pictures or creating new files
