"Trying to access your address book"

Since getting the Office XP Service Pack 3, I'm getting
an Outlook alert on every piece of incoming e-mail saying
that "a program is trying to access your address book"
and asking if I want to allow that or deny it. (e.g. 10 e-
mails, 10 alerts)

This sounds dangerous -- or is it something new that's
offered in the service pack?

Do you have good antivirus software that also scans mail? Make sure it's
updated and run a full scan.

Yes. anti-virus stuff is fully up to date. My first
thought was that something had slipped by. But this
message started appearing on the very next send/receive
on Outlook after I installed the Service pack 3 last
night.

The SP added some additional security features. Do you have something
scanning mail as it arrives? It could be antispam or antivirus - if so, look
for an updated version or disable the feature.

That sounds like it! I have "I Hate Spam" and it's
stopped working, too. That's what must be looking for the
addresses. I'll update it. Thanks!.
