Hello,

I have a user that I have assigned a home directory to and
for some reason now, it does not connect to it when she
logs on to the domain. I have removed the directory and
set it up again in AD, but it still will not connect to
that directory. I have logged into her user on several
computers and it does the same thing. Does anyone have
any ideas about this, please? Thank you in advance.

You know it is one there to tell us precisely what does and does
not happen, exactly how you have it set, etc and quite another to
say "will not connect."

Permissions on share and directories are the first place to check.

Logon as the user and if it "will not connect" automatically, then try
explicitly connecting using the "net use" command and report (or resolve)
any errors.

If that works (as the user), then change to the appropriate directory and
you eliminate permissions from the possible causes.

If it works, then DOUBLE (triple) check that the SAME exact path is
the one you use in both AD and at the command line.

Mark,

Have you looked at the share level and ntfs permissions set on the folder.
The share level perms should give your domain users or similar group full
control. The user should also have full control of their own home directory
as well as ownership.

The real test is to see if the user can use the unc path to get to his/her
share. For example, can they go to start - run and type
\\server\share\homedir and open this up. If they cannot get in their own
home directory this way, then they will not be able to get their during
logon.

I hope this helps.
