I have a conexant modem/router.

Do you know how to set it up so that it can share an
internet connection between two computers.
I have no idea how to do this as it is so complicated.

Jared,

Is it a NAT (Network Address Translation) router? Wired or wireless? What
model? Does it work with this ISP (that's the tricky part)?

Most NAT routers share automatically, with default settings that support a
quantity of clients (Linksys defaults to 50 for instance).

Just provide physical connection to the clients, physical connection to the ISP,
configure the ISP service (static, dynamic, PPPoE), reset DHCP on the clients,
and you should be in business.

Cheers,
Chuck
Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.

I recommend running an ethernet cable(CAT5e UTP, etc.) to each PC. That will use 3 female connectors on the router. The modem will run to the WAN port; the 2 UTP cables will run to LAN ports. Your other option is to use ICS(internet connection sharing) but it would require the host PC to be on for the other to connect and is more difficult to set up.
