Registry cleaners are wholly unnecessary in Windows XP and actually can
often damage the system by removing needed entries that they mistakenly
thinks are dead ones. The only time a regular user should use a registry
cleaner is when it is specific to removing remnants of an uninstalled
program, and that's it.

The poster just above this one ? "camera wizard not working" ...looks
like he needs a registry cleaner - one of the few cases where one may help,
( I was going to mention Norton Windoctor), but, as you know, unless one
only uses it in a manual fashion to check everything it's doing - all could
go bang ! ...so I didn't mention it !
