I have a user who evidently saves his files with really long filenames. He
wants to be able to view the entire filename when he expands the File menu to
look at his recently used documents list. Is it possible to set up Word to
allow this?

Hi Brant,

The File=>Dropdown doesn't expand the width or use tooltips
effectively to show the full file length, but if you use Ctrl+F1
in Word 2003 the Task pane will generally show the full name in
the 'Open' section of the 'Getting Started' Task Pane.
