Are there any Acronis True Image users that can help with the following...

I am using Acronis True Image 7.0, Build 611, that is running on XP. My
current image/backup is password protected and an error occurs the second
time I choose a task. It is always right before going to the "enter
password" panel.
TrueImage has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
If you were in the middle of something, the information you were
working on might be lost.
AppName: trueimage.exe AppVer: 7.0.0.611 ModName: hpgs2wns.dll
ModVer: 2.6.0.161 Offset: 0000345c

To reproduce: have an image that is password protected. Bring up Acronis
True Image and select Explore Image. Select the image, enter the password,
go all the way through and then Unplug the Image or just cancel out at this
point. Now enter Explore Image again, select the image and now, where the
password panel should come up, the error above comes up and the program
closes.

When you use the Explore Image function and the drive letter has been
assigned, the system thinks new hardware has been added and wants you to
install the driver. Should this just be cancelled out of? Doing so results
in a warning, but it appears to work okay.

In reading the online manual for True Image, it only appeared to give a
choice of FAT16 or FAT32 when changing the file system is needed. I wanted
to make sure that if the image was created from a drive with NTSF file
system, that restoring image to an existing or new drive will be NTSF?

Thank you for any assistance!

Hello again,

Thank you for the reports send.

They are useful, our specialists located that next your dll file:

C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\HP Share-to-Web\HPGS2WNS.DLL is the source of crashes, so now we shall test HP software to fix this problem.

The above was from Acronis, my solution was:

Hello Michael,

Thank you for that! I disabled HPGS2WNS.DLL using Startup Control Panel from http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml. Then I disabled the Share to the Web icon on the desktop by right clicking and ticking disable. It seems to have done the trick - fantastic.

I did go 1 step further and uninstalled HP's Memories Disc. Doing that eliminated a problem with PowerDesk (file manager)/ ExplorerPlus (the one I use now) not unloading from memory. The program was being held open with 1 hook, I noticed it in Task Manager at 1 time there were 8 copies of PD open at once!

So there is your solution.

WOW... you are good. I removed it from the startup process and then had to
change "Do you want the Share-to-Web Upload Folder to be displayed on your
desktop?" to no and now the problem is gone. Thoughts on why this dll and
True Image were not getting along?
