When I try to shut down windows, I get two errors stating that TRDSK cannot terminate. Any idea how I can fix this?
thanks,

Googling for "TRDSK" only produces some links to Burmese sites. You say
you get "two errors" but don't quote either one of them. All I can tell
you is that something called "TRDSK" is running and refusing to exit
gracefully.

In general for shutdown problems, your first step is to make sure the
computer is completely virus/malware free:

The next step is to go through this shutdown troubleshooter:

The OP indicates TRSDK in the header, but TRDSK in the body.

I would suspect TRSDK is correct (SDK - software development kit) and
TR would relate to sound software (drivers?) in IBM(-type?) machines.

I suspect it's something to do with sound software that windows can't
close normally - not necessarily drivers but some of those extra
control panels that come with driver software.

You're probably right. But I'm not going to guess, either. If the OP
wants more help he can always come back with more details.
