Hello,

i am trying to install the EWF filter filter (RAM Overlay) onto my 512
MB flash card. My target system is a 700 Mhz P3 (diskless).

First i tried it using the article 'Using Compact Flach (CF) with the
Enhanced Write Filter (EWF)' from the MSDN.

I always got the message 'Failed getting protected volume configuration
with error 1'.
I saw in the log file that the reason was, the fba was not able create
the ewf partition.

I read in this newsgroup that i have to use RAMEWF from Slobodan Brcin.

I tried it with the EWF RAM Registry Component and i had the same error
as above.
So i tried to do it in the way it is written in the howto.
But i am unable to add the registry entries , like they are described in
step 3.

How can i manage it ?
When i am pressing the right mouse button the option to add a key is
greyed out.
Is it because i am using a 90 days trial version of TD ?

Bye
Thomas

Hi,

Do you have PnP User Mode component?
You must use ewfmgr c: to get valid info.
Make sure that you don't have hidden EWF partition. (In this case I don't think that this is a problem)

Best regards,
Slobodan

Thomas,

Someone posted a very slick solution on www.xpefiles.com: EWF for CF. You
add some registry keys to point the driver to the CF, and disable the
EWFDLL.DLL from creating the EWF partition. It works everytime.

my problem is "how" to add registry entries ?
In the TD it seems not to be possible.

Or do i have to create new entries after the FBA succeeds on the target
system ?
