Trouble with GameVoice

Greetings.

I am having trouble getting GameVoice 1.5 up and running.
I downloaded it from the gamevoice.com and installed it.
I double click on the icon and it puts me into a wizard
that is tests the sound hardware. I am using Voyetra
Turtle Beach Santa Cruz driver version 5.12.1.4161. I get
an error code 0x80004005 and another that says the Test
Wizard did not complete successfully.

P4 1400MHz
512 Ram
GeForce4 Ti 4200 with AGP8X
Windows XP Home
DirectX 9.0b

At one point in time it worked with DirectX 8.0 but I
think it stopped working about the same time I upgraded to
9.0b. The 'dxdiag' diagnostics tell me everything is ok

I have tried setting the sound hardware acceleration at
various levels, reinstalling DirectX 9.0b, upgrading the
sound drivers, and I have the most current patches for the
OS.

Any suggestions? It appears GameVoice is no longer
supported by Microsoft.
 
I have tried everything. Nothing helps. Updating sound,
video, etc. drivers. Do I need to back my data up and re-
install?
