Using Win XP Home on desktop and laptop computers.
Computers connected through network.
File on desktop.
Starting at laptop I can copy the file from the desktop to the laptop
throught the network.
HOWEVER, starting at desktop when I try to copy the file to the laptop
I get an error message when I try to paste it into laptop.

Error Copying File or Folder
Cannot copy the file: Access is denied.
Make sure disk is not full or write protected and that file is not
currently in use.

The drives on both computers are shared.

Any help woul;d be appreciated.
Thanks,
Herb

To start at the desktop and copy a file to the laptop, you need to
configure the proper permission on the laptop:

1. On the laptop, right click the shared disk or folder.
2. Click "Sharing and Security".
3. Put a check mark next to "Allow other network users to change my
files".

WARNING: If you're at the desktop and you delete a file that's stored
on the laptop, the file is completely gone. It doesn't go into the
Recycle Bin on either computer.
