Michael

I have had Windows Mail for over a month now and before I have had absolutely
no problems with whatsoever. Now, however, I cannot send messages. I can
still receive messages, but not send them. I have followed all the
troubleshooting advice, but to no avail. I even removed my account and
reloaded, but still no change. I have an AOL account. All my outoing server
addresses are correct. Any idea from anyone on this one? Thanks.

Why do you keep sending replies to assorted messages, but never adding
anything?

If you have a problem with Windows Mail, you could tell us what is and
be more likely to get an answer.

Also include the full error messages you get, if any.

Are you trying to connect to AOL on port 25? If such connections cross
from one internet provider to another before they get to the outgoing
email server, they are likely to be blocked to cause trouble for spammers.

Some AOL instructions:

http://email.about.com/od/windowsmailtips/qt/et_access_aol.htm

Note the part about port numbers.

Hi~

I also am having no success sending from Windows mail. Had this set up
since at least last Aug with no issues, now suddenly last week everything
goes to outbox when I hit send. What can I do?

Debbie

Can you delete the oldest message in the Outbox, or move it to the
Drafts folder? If not you may need to download and install this fix,
with Windows Mail not running:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090

Although it's labelled as for mail stuck in the Outbox, it also works in
other folders. If you don't know whether to use the 32-bit version or
the 64-bit version, try the 32-bit version first. Certain common
antivirus programs, such as most of those from Norton or McAfee,
or a recent one from Trend, tend to cause such problems, although
seldom immediately, so if you have such a program, remember
where to find the fix - you are likely to need it again.

This is the error message that occurs when I try sending an email:

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Re: Emailing: Rotary Club
Scholarship 001', Account: 'imap.aol.com', Server: 'smtp.aol.com', Protocol:
SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E
