Recently purchased new PC with Vista. I've been printing off pages from the
web with the greatest of ease. But today I needed to print something from
Excel, and it brings up a "Print to file" dialog box.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Select the correct printer. It sounds like Excel is defaulting to one of the
"document writer" printers
In Excel, click on File - Print (or Ctrl-P)
In the Printer box, select your actual printer.

Thanks for the quick reply. But I figured it out. Somehow, the printer
settings in the control panel got screwed up. It still confuses me how I
could print web pages, but not in Excel. Oh well. Its working now.
